Quantitative and Research Skills

For my marketing research class, I analyzed quantitative data about the gift-giving behavior of Muhlenberg alumni who received a degree in the social sciences category. Using the software package SPSS Statistics, my group and I were able to collect and interpret data drawn from a large data set. Our findings were presented during finals week to Muhlenberg’s Advancement Office, so it was essential that we created a visually stimulating presentation with necessary graphics such as charts and tables. Since we only had 10-12 minutes to present, we had to hone in on the most compelling information from our findings. This project also was a great preparation tool for the professional world as I will most likely be asked to present my research in front of senior staff.
